Harry Potter & Narnia

The Christmas spirit is completely eluding my family this year. We don't even have a tree or any decorations or anything, and probably won't have. I still really enjoy seeing lots of other people's windows all lit up though, even if we don't make the effort ourselves ( Read more... )

Hmmm, I should get back into reading BtVS and Angel novels as well... and Star Wars books are very much so true to everything. I've actually got a bunch of them.

I loved Narnia. I thought it was a fantastic adaptation of the book. I thought the child actors filled thir roles wonderfully, and I though the computer animation was splendiferous.... for lack of a better word. Anyhow, even though your family is not in the Christmas spirit, you have a card on the way!

I completely agree with you about Gamdon's Dumbledore. To me, it was the only off-note in the movie. He was too active, to harsh (perfect word for it), and not...sage, aloof (as he often is in the books) and wizened enough. I thought Gamdon made the transition seamlessly in the last movie so I found it even more surprising the change this time. Do you think it might have been a choice of the director? I noticed even his wardrobe was different (including the little band around his beard) which might suggest an orchestrated effort to change the character's presentation. I don't know why they'd want to do that though, the way he had been presented was more in line with my mental image than this version.

*kiss* :)
