My recording setup with Ubuntu Studio and a Presonus Firewire FP10

I finally got my Linux based recording system working, using a PC with firewire a Presonus FP10 8 in 8 out recording interface (about £300) and Ubuntu Studio. If you're interested here's what I did:

That sounds nearly as good as audacity and a clip on tie mic.

Does it piss you off when you forget to press the 'back to the beginning' button and start recording 17 bars in?

Audacity sucks badly. Get ardour! The PT default and I think ardour (it's one of those things i dont think about any more) is to revert the playhead to the last stop when you play. So ya don't get that problem :)

Also you can press ctrl>space to stop recording and forget the last take.
