Were I in my right mind, I might appreciate the irony of having my arm slung around Tony's shoulder just to keep myself upright as I stumble down the mountain, especially today. "Um, pretty much," Lexie says, almost apologetic, teeth pressing to her lower lip. If she were someone else, someone who hadn't graduated near the top of her class at Harvard Med, it might have been something like funny, questions about teleportation, the way things said are so quickly forgotten; she isn't someone else, though, and as such, can't bring herself to be anything but worried and professional. She's glad, at least, that she's the one who found the pair on their way to the clinic, even if she's sure that any of the other doctors would have done as good a job. There's something about being able to take care of things herself that's comforting ( ... )

"Don't look at me," I say, holding up my free hand in protest. I'm a master at this game. This game, of course, being 'lying to doctors.' I've even got the upper hand this go around, what with the whole 'I don't remember a damn thing' excuse, which is good, because I'm a pretty lousy liar, truth be told.

"What... happened?" Tony said, as if he didn't know what she was talking about. Or as if repeating the question would cause it to bend into a different, more easily addressed state.

It did not.

"He hit his head. We already covered that, it... caused the memory loss."
