I will very often buy books, especially sf, if they have covers that are so beautiful I can't live without them. Space Magic just shot to the top of my list.

Sweet! My work has just done its job.

And it really is a great collection.

It also makes me want to write more science fiction, since sf writers (IMO) always get the best covers. I write horror and dark fantasy, so I can only expect a lot of crudely-drawn skeletons fighting unicorns on my covers... ::shudders::

I just got back into town and read this.

You nearly made me nose-spit my coffee!

Agreed. The Space Magic cover gets me with that well-placed star encapsulating the "Magic" of the title. Both of them are tops.

Oooh, shiney! That is nice!

You're telling me! They are wa-ay shinier in person (probably because of the gloss on the cover, but who's counting details?).

Agreed, shiny as hell. Just had a funny realization that one of these days I'm going to be going through a box at Recycled and pull one of these out, or one of these days, one of ours. In the year I've been there I've seen a book each by barthanderson and yuki_onna, as well as a trade copy and Advanced Reader Copy of Vellum. I'm always all "Hey, I know them!" and everyone else is all "Yeah whatever, go check this stack of Chri-fi against stock."

We should publish Chri-fi!
