Dear God, the grammar. What are they teaching children in school?

I understand the short hand "u" for "you," but "your" in place of "you're"? Hideous.

For the record, we are teaching them correct grammar. That's all I have done for the last 2 freaking years. When they write formal papers they still write "u" and "cuz" and all sorts of crap. I won't grade them that way. And I will not answer unless they speak in proper English.
It is an uphill battle and has been ever since ain't appeared in the dictionary.
