The purpose of a purpose

Ones purpose in life, or rather ones code of daily conduct is a hard thing to come by, especially in America where you have the freedom to choose it yourself. Why do you get out of bed in the morning, why do you do anything you do and justify it. Most people only do some things because it is what you have to do in order to get by in todays world ( Read more... )

It seems to me that you struggle with the idea that in this age, life, is a right granted to everyone. You do not belong in such an age... Life has not always been a right, not until the last few hundred years has anyone had the time or the power to put such a thought to words... Until then, Life was a privilege that was earned through the strength of one's hands or the merit of one's abilities. It was enough to get up every morning and know that if you did not kill, scavenge, or harvest your food - you, and your family would not eat. If you did not trade your wares, you would not have the materials to build a home ( ... )

What you say is very true, but I really don't even despise the allowances for our weak and lazy. Its just that all things moral are put aside, all logic is negated for beaurocracy and words to paper are stronger than human blood and guts. In this day people would rather not know what is being done to them daily, they have succumb to accepting the fact that they don't know everything so they choose to know nothing. People today are no longer enslaved by chains of steel on the wrists but chians of gold on the neck, men are made to dance on strings and bow before those who can sell and manipulate sex for them. Most women are convinced not in Victorian purity as a reason for chastity but that their intimacy is worth either control or currency. I swear I wonder if people even listen to what they are saying or what they are supporting anymore. Old people bitch constantly about the government and young people too take a shot at the man in word, but ill be damned if not a one would dare to try and convince others to do the same ( ... )

I think I have probably missed the boat on this one. But I have come back to this and read this over and over again and the more I read it, the angrier I get. And although whatever urged you to set this down in writing has probably already passed, I think that what it comes down to is that you are looking for answers on the outside, looking to other people, and I admit, they are a PART of it, but the answers you want are already inside of you.
