alright here are the first couple of lessons in cold weather endurance. first is mostly mental. if you believe your cold you are going to be cold. use your shoalin training to over come this mental barrier. second there are a few key points to concentrate keeping warm and the rest will fall into place. first major one is arms and chest. makes sense b/c they are the most intrical part of your core which is the ultimate place you want to keep warm. keep your elbows tucked into your ribs as much as possible. heat is usually lost through the joints and the armpits are a major one. not only will this prevent heat loss it will reflect it back onto your self keeping you warmer. another big one is the neck and more specificly the back and sides of the neck. they dont feel cold because thats where the heat is going out to keep it warm. if you wear high collared shirts(turtle neck if you have to but thats extreme) and just make sure drafts and wind aren't blowing on it, it should make it better. back of the neck is where the chills that go down ( ... )

lol, what to know about shaolin. . . When you are a baby and you breathe your stomach goes in and out not your chest. Start working on that, always breathe with your stomach, in through your nose, out through your mouth. It's very important to centering yourself and holding that center and concentration.

You are right about the mental, but it sucks when you just came out of the shower and are soaking wet and it's 40 degrees!! It just sort of hurts to stand there and take it, but that's what I do, and will continue to do.

Shaolin physically, endurance is huge and so is power. Do a LOT of pushups and squats. 1 set in shaolin is 160 pushups, so start with one and work on. =)
