Abortion Ban

Nov 05, 2003 14:20

I haven't updated seriously in a while, so I've decided to do that today. Now Bush has signed a legislative act against partial birth abortions. I have not read the exact wording of the ban, and some people have differing opinions on what exactly it says. Some say the language is too broad and may prevent in some cases a normal abortion. Others ( Read more... )

this is the first i've heard of this but i would be interested to see what you find out. i was under the impression that all abortion was early pregnacy abortion. i mean after a couple of months you should ahve an idea of whether or not you want your child. wouldn't most doctors have some sort of moral objection to a late pregnacy abortion anyways?

There's no way I'm going to google for "partial birth abortion" to find the text on this one. I got to see enough of those pictures when an activist group set up a huge color display in the middle of campus last year. *shudder ( ... )

While I am very pro choice, I am against partial birth abortion. At that point it would be easier to find some one to adopt. I don't know about the circumstances regarding the health issues tho. I think most people are scared the legislation against PBA could lead to further legislation against abortion/birth control/planned parenthood/woman's rights/etc.

Yeah, I've heard rumor of that, but I honestly think at the point where you are in your second and third trimester, it is no longer a woman's rights issue any more than it's that child's rights as well.

If think if the baby's brain is developed to the point that it can feel what's going on, then it's wrong.

Even though I would never have an abortion, and I am for the most part against abortions, I think they should remain legal. Because if a woman is determined to terminate a pregnancy, she'll do it no matter what. Ever hear of those stories of young girls with coat hangers in dark alleys? Might as well keep it legal so it can be regulated.

I don't know if that's what you were looking for, but that's my two cents...

Well, I don't mind early abortions being legal, but once you get into the 4, 5, 6, and even 7 month phase, you should just not have one. It isn't right in my eyes.
