ON LIFE AND FAMILY
So like we totally know that Enma has been dealt a bad hand, right? Right. He's the failure boss of the most unfortunate mafia family ever. How much worse off could you be in life?
Experience as being a target of bullying for his whole life, the poor thing, has given him a pretty bleak perception of the world and of life and of other people. People who hold advantage- physically or mentally or economically or politically or socially- are bound to abuse it. He holds this opinion of anyone who has any sort of power-- bullies, the mafia~. Because of this, he doesn't flaunt his own strengths, which would make him as bad as everyone else, and therefore allows himself to be walked over by others.
The limited exposure that the Shimon family have had as a group gives some insight into Enma's role as bossu. He's usually quiet, and it's the others who discuss amongst themselves the issues. Adelheid, Koyo and Julie are the three that seem to be most outspoken. I like to think that, when it comes to important business, Enma listens to the others bicker and in the end it's up to him. He probably is pretty easily swayed, considering his opinions on people with power. He wouldn't abuse his position as boss of the family in order to enforce his own terms.
But, considering his actions around and after the inheritance ceremony, he will use his hidden strength for his family. In my mind that's one of the strongest similarities that he shares with Tsuna. He isn't as direct as the others of his family, but he still holds role of the one who makes the decisions-- but doesn't like it.
ON ROMANCE / SEXUALITY
Enma is, due to being irreparably awkward and antisocial, pretty much without a sex drive. I mean… he can hang around Boobzilla no problem, after all~. Whether or not he feels for other people in his pants is not something he expresses.
He also is generally untrusting of others outside his family (especially mafia) so romantic relationships would be difficult for him to even initially get involved in. But once that trust has been determined, Enma would probably be the submissive in the relationship, just because he's generally submissive in every other aspect of his life anyways.
And maybe if he got some he wouldn't be so glum.
PAIRING NOTES
The only person that we really see Enma coming close to trusting outside of the Shimon is Tsuna, and that makes him the best candidate for being paired with Enma.
Among his family, I think that Adelheid is the one that he shares the strongest relationship with. But there's not much there besides that bond of friendship and understanding of hardship and there won't be.. at least until he's older.
ON RELIGION
Probably has just as grim an outlook on higher powers as he does towards people that hold power. I like to think that he does believe in god, but is incredibly negative about it.
ON LUCK
What luck?
Really, Enma has no business relying on luck. His life has been shit and he knows better than to ever rely on anything like luck to pull him out of it. That's not to say that he's especially on his own hard work to bring himself higher up. He accepts bad things that happen to him as out of his hands.
