A wild MEME appears!
So this is what's been happening. I've recently been reading Shadowjack's other 'Where I Watch', of Neon Genesis Evangelion. NGE, also known as EVA, is an anime classic and also one hell of a ride.

Samirah froze, willing her body not to tremble.
There was one angel she could never sense -- not until he allowed her to do so.
"Have you fallen in with Lumiel's crowd?" he asked. "I must say I'm disappointed in you."
"I haven't fallen in with anyone," she said softly.
"Not even the lovely woman you spend all your time with?" was the purred reply.
She didn't allow herself to react. "A friendship is not falling in."
Her father sighed. "You guard yourself so tightly."
"And you're the reason why."
