6th Rune [Video/Action for Route 37]

Jul 05, 2011 08:23

[Margarita appears to be journeying along one of the routes, her camping supplies packed back up in her bag so she can continue on.]Hello, I'm currently making my way from Ecruteak City to Violet, but I'm given to understand that there's a tree-like Pokémon that blocks the path between the two cities. I should reach it in about a day and a half, ( Read more... )

[As soon as she heard the feed mentioning Mari's ice cream party, she took it onto herself and flew a short distance on her Pokemon to where the Sudowoodo was from Violet City. If it was for the party, she had to make sure that all the people who were invited had to make it.

She dropped down right beside Margarita from her Charizard.]

You need to get to Violet, right? I can take you there.

[Margarita looks up at the sound of wings, just in time to watch Mammon dismount from her Charizard. Noting that she had the same symbol on her clothes that Maria did eased her mind a little - she'd been expecting help in moving the false tree, not someone offering to fly her to Violet.]

Yep, that's right. And I'll be taking you up on your generous offer.

[She releases her Noctowl from the Pokeball.]

You can ride the Charizard, since it's a little safer that way. She'll hold you. Do you have everything ready?

I do. [She indicates the pack slung across her back.]

And I have some practice riding dragon-like creatures. Dragons were a common method of air travel in my own world.

[After taking a few moments to let the Charizard get familiar with her, she mounts her, settling into a comfortable riding position.]

Oh?

[And after her Noctowl nearly lies on its stomach, Mammon gets on its back and both Pokemon start flying onwards to Violet.]

What was it like?

[Margarita does seem more comfortable in the air than most people new to riding flying Pokémon.]

My home world? Magic is well known and believed in, though it takes both natural talent and extensive training to use it, so it's most commonly found in the large cities. [Her expression darkens as she relates the next bit.] In some of the smaller, more conservative villages they fear anyone with the talent to use magic, no matter their degree of training or intentions.

Anyway, I was an apprentice witch at the Silver Star Tower, a prominent school for magic. A lot of our magic relies on the summoning - or creation, in the case of Alchemy - of various types of familiars, of which dragons are one. I've always rather liked riding on dragons - it gives a great sense of freedom, traveling so quickly through the air.

If you really like flying, I wouldn't mind if you bought a Charmander egg off me. You can evolve it yourself and have something like her. [She points to the Charizard.]

Thank you for the suggestion, but I'm already raising a Bagon that hatched from the egg I got on Easter. I'm given to understand they become quite large and powerful flyers when they finish evolving.

Bagons... [She starts thinking to figure out which one that is--]

Ah, right. Bagons evolve into that round thing and then into a Salemence later. They learn Fly naturally too, so you would never have to go to Cianwood for the HM.

That'll be really useful, I'd just have to get the Zephyr badge from Violet and train her enough to be able to fly her around, right? I'll probably challenge the Cianwood Gym eventually anyway, though.

Oh? Are you going to challenge all the gyms?

I'm definitely thinking about it. Not that I really care about going home anytime soon, but it seems like an interesting challenge to try to conquer.

You don't go home after you get all eight badges.

[She looks a bit proud as she says it too.]

So you can challenge it to the best of your ability without that factor hindering you.

I take it you know that from experience? But that's good news, I'm looking forward to see what my team and I can do once we're ready.

Yes, I have all eight! [She does a little dance in her head.] They're not really that tough when you have the right Pokemon.

Congratulations. Certain types of familiars were better against others back home, so taking Pokémon types into account isn't that strange of a concept to me, though it's more complex than the system back home was.
