Morag groaned and rolled over, muscles sore, as she felt Draco leave the bed, the loss of his body heat above her making her shiver. She opened one eye and frowned. “You’re leaving again, aren’t you?” She whispered into the dark stillness of the room, the sun not yet up through the windows. “What this time?”

Draco looked haggard, tired, and not particularly happy she had woken. “The Order wants me at headquarters in an hour.” He said softly. The war had drawn long, and in a lateral move to protect himself and his family, he had gone to the Order. The reasons he had were reminding him now, as he looked down at Morag, red hair spilling over pillows and sheets, ruffled from sleep and the reunion sex they had had the night before. This was one of the many reasons he fought, to keep her safe, though he knew she could protect herself, he still wanted to protect her.

Morag groaned and sat up, her sheet wrapped around her somewhat awkwardly as she tried to escape it and reached for him again, tangling her hands in his hair and kissing him deeply, another shiver going down her back as the kiss made her toes curl, and his hands cupped her neck. “Come back to me.” She whispered softly.

“I always do.” Draco said softly, surprised by the sudden rush of affection in his veins and her words. Morag didn’t usually get so vocal about her worry. Usually by the time he got home, even days late, he’d either find her curled up on his side of the bed wearing one of his shirts, or in the kitchen, baking more food than could be eaten by all the people on her land. “You all right?”

“I’m fine.” Morag said softly, and got out of bed to go to her main jewellery box. She pulled out a long chain, as Draco went to gt a shower, curious, but knowing he had to leave. When he came back, she had strung a white-gold band on the chain, and before even letting him dress, she put the metal, warm with her body heat, around his neck. “Do me a favour.” She said softly. “Wear this for now, just for luck.” She kissed him again, and after inspecting it again, he realised it was a wedding band on a chain.

Morag laughed at the look on his face. “Because we don’t have rings.” She said simply, and kissed him again. Draco didn’t need to ask why to know that it was because she had a bad feeling. “All right,” he said, feeling a little silly, but doing it to make her feel better. “You just be here when I get home.”

“I always am.” Morag answered, and kissed him again, and it made him shiver.
