Simple things annoy me sometimes. Like in the tech world, at this point in the digital era, nothing going over the wire should (for the most part) be doing so unencrypted. Everything I want is expensive
I cashed in my coin jar this morning and had thoughts dancing in my head of what I might buy with the proceeds. I collect all the change I gather throughout the day and when I get home, as I empty my pockets, I drop all my change into the coin jars. Resist Government Oppression!
Every fifth of November, I'm reminded of bonfires and cold Fall nights, bundled in scarfs and coats. I'm reminded of merriment and beer and bratwurst and family. Revenge of the Pumpkin

Phase one complete
Well, I did it. I survived my first training run for the Go Vertical race. It was only 73 floors instead of 103, but I completed it in just under 16 and a half minutes. I was actually pretty surprised when I first heard the time reading because that's pretty damn good. I could be halfway competitive by the time the actual race comes around ( Read more... ) -
Exercise is a cruel mistress
Soccer was awesome tonight. Perfect weather for it, a good strong breeze to keep us cool and a nice solid 4 on 4 match. Although, I really need to work on my passing to my teammates... It's been a long time since I've dove into a book as hard as this latest one and it feels good. Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials isn't the best book I've read, but it's ability to pull together fantasy (a genre I've immersed myself in all my life), science, and philosophy all in one, has held my attention far more than I thought it would. I went to work yesterday at 3pm. I just got home and the clock reads 10:11am. There's still more work to be done... but none that requires I be there anymore. I have a feeling I'm going to go nocturnal for the weekend.
