I wish I had some words that could make things better, but there are no words. I really hope this new treatment works, MS is hard, and it never gets better. She will always be going down, which is hard to deal with. You are very good for being there for her and helping her with all of this, just don't forget, you need some support too, since you are going through this all too. People forget that the SO's get hit just as hard (sure they don't have the physical pain but they get everything else and more). If you ever need someone to rant to or just be irrational with, you can always call or write me.
Been there, done that. My ex had Chrones, I was in and out of hospitals for years.
Actually, It's not that hard for me, all thats hard on me is not being able to change it, which is a simple and ridiculous thing, of course, but I think something built into men, the need to protect and the ungodly frustration when we can't. When people look at me and say "It must be so hard on you" I always look at them blankly, and just shrug and say "I'm not going through it."
If kyli can keep laughing and BSing while she's pissing herself and losing her ability to walk, why would I be in worse shape? I get angry and stressed sometimes, but its nothing I can't particularily handle. I think thats why we ended up together, we both just shrug off so much that drags other people under. And why we both understand that one day we'll break up. -L-
It is not just men that feel that way, one of the things I hated most was how powerless I was. How I could not fix him or make him better. How I knew no matter what I did or the doctors did he will always be sick
I find that if you can't laugh about something and joke about it then you can't deal with it, so as long as she and you are still joking, then that is a good sign. And it is really good that you both don't think of anything as permanent, one of the worst things that happens when someone gets sick is how people feel tied to each other because of it. The illness should have nothing to do with that.
Don't lie to yourself, it is hard on you, but you are dealing. Don't worry, you have no pitty from me, I just know where you are.
