Terribly. I couldn't have known, but that's not an excuse. I asked so many people for their help and input and opinions. Because after having tried everything, after having trained for weeks, Caven still wouldn't let me mount him without making a fuss. But in the end, there was no progress. Hey!

I don't know if you have heard of a older gentlemen named Monty Roberts, and if you haven't. I highly recommend you check him out. His join up method is really amazing, and I use it on my horses. My first every horse that I bought was a pity buy because she lived in a abusive home, and his methods really helped me and her have a steady and trusting relationship.

Caven is one happy horse. :) Even more so, now that we got rid of the source of his pain. He's doing great!
