So another holiday has come and gone. I had fun with friends, ate (which is something I am both good at and enjoy), and then got to come home and play some video games (which is also something I am good at and enjoy). But for all that . . . I still wonder about this holiday

Shall I dare bring up the Children's Crusade? You know, the one where the Church decided they kept losing because they sent adult men, full of sin? So they got together a bunch of children no older than twelve and sent them on their merry way.

Yeah, that's a religion I want to have anything to do with. Send children into battle!

Know what happened to those children? No, they weren't slaughtered in the Crusades. They didn't even make it. The captain of the ship they hired to take them took them as slaves and sold them off.

And the Church didn't notice or care when their innocent sacrificial lambs didn't return.
