Today is, apparently, the day of random Finnish foods being made. For breakfast today, my mom made these things that the recipe called "kropser" which tasted like really eggy pancakes and were pretty good, and if I can get someone to go buy some yeast, we'll be making pulla later. If we make it, I'll let you all know how it turns out. :)

Was it any good? To me, it sounds utterly disgusting, but I don't like fish very much, which might explain it, lol.

We ended up deciding to make the pulla some other time, as no one really felt like making it today. XD

Random Finnish foods, FTW! :D

I have no idea what kropser are. I even googled it. I'm guessing it's something local to the west coast. (The name sounds Swedish, at least.)

I love pulla! I keep being all shocked when I remember that there's no real English word for it. :P

Also, re: kalakukko: I sort of like it, but only in small quantities, served cold and with a tonne of butter. (Also, it's fish in a bread, with bits of fat and pork. It's fairly disgusting if you think about it too much.)

Whatever it is, it was pretty good.

The recipe for pulla I saw, really just looked like cinnamon rolls with cardamom in, but then again, I've never seen a recipe for cinnamon rolls. XD

Got any easy Finnish recipes I could try? :D
