It's a really bad book.

It's basically a book written by a 15 year old (I kid you not - he's 23 now and must make his parents really proud) which blantantly rips off Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. Seriously - it's not subtle.

I suppose the film won't be that bad as long as the 15 year old isn't writing it.

In short: It really, really doesn't.

Think of it as a middle ground between the D&D film... and a good film.
An improvement in the genre: Yes. But a good film: No.
