I think I'll be staying here for a bit - I'm running a little low on money so I got a job with the PokéCenter here. It's just making sure the files stay in order but ( Read more... )

It's not an egg, but I do possess a Houndour. It was given to me, and I'm really not good with dogs.

Sounds like we have the makings of a deal, then. Is being relieved of having to deal with your Houndour sufficient, or did you want me to pay you for it somehow?

Also, I'm Margarita Surprise. It's nice to meet you, Mister...?

I have been caring for him so far... I would be interested in modest payment or a trade, certainly.

Would you be willing to part with your Spinarak?

[Margarita glanced up at the Pokémon sitting on her head thoughtfully. She hadn't had her for that long, really, and it's not like she couldn't catch another one if she wanted to.]

Sure, I'll trade you my Spinarak for your Houndour. Are you in Violet City right now, or...?

[OOC: Thread for the trade on the Trading Post is here.]

Wow, you already have more pokemon than me... and they're all cooler than mine, too. [she puffs.]

But most of yours are probably more powerful than mine, since you've been here longer. And if you want a Skarmory, someone's selling Skarmory eggs for pretty cheap. You can contact him here.

Um.. well, one of mine is really strong, but that's 'cause it belonged to someone who left. My other ones are really weak. Especially this one. [she shifts the gear to her heracross, who's currently rolling around on the hotel floor for.. nor particular reason. Rydia sighs.]

Oooh, but those Skarmories do look really strong..

Well, like I said, you can contact the guy I mentioned if you want a Skarmory egg - they only cost P100. But while what kind of Pokémon you have will affect how tough they are, how much they've been trained affects that, too. Any Pokémon that's just been hatched won't be very tough to begin with.

They're very... Distinct! Scarletter and Grimalkin especially.

Well, there are creatures named grimalkin where I come from, and my Sneasel reminded me of them, so that's where his name came from. And Scarletter is a play on scarlet, since the undersides of her wings are red.

For breeding, the species doesn't matter all that much. I think they have to be in the same "egg group" to breed. [ He's just reading what he knows in the handbook he has gotten. ] And I think it's the female's species that the offspring is.

Hmm, that's interesting. You wouldn't think that such a diverse assortment of creatures would be able to breed with each other. I wonder if they all have a common ancestor or something...

I wonder that too, but since this place is a video game, I guess the normal rules don't apply.

What do you mean, this place is a 'video game'? I've heard of these 'video games' from someone else here, but there weren't any where I come from.
