Soooo I've been snooping around to find scholarships that I can apply for. Anyway, I came across the Christine Mitus Rose Memorial Scholarship and in the description it says, verbatim:

Scholarship available to students who have had a parent die; preference to those who have had a parent die of cancer.

Wait, let me say that one more time.
