Icon meme: Comment here and I'll pick seven of your icons that need a little explaining.
apsik asked me to explain these:
Blue Dog's Eyes - as a Dog Person, I needed at least one icon to express my affection. This caught my eye basicly because the dog is, well, blue and Blue Dog's Eyes is one of my favourite short stories by G. G. Marquez. A very short one, dream-like, almost unlike any of his.
Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots is a cover of an album with the same title. The Flaming Lips, the official soundtrack for nearly-nuclear war between the human race and the pink robots. As wonderfully crazy as it sounds.
Wings Of Desire - a scene from one of my all-time favourites, Wim Wenders' Wings Of Desire. This is the way I imagine angels. Sad creatures in long dark coats. They can barely stand hearing people's thoughts.
Vah! - This word expresses admiration for somebody's artistic performance, a piece of poetry or a song. First heard (and seen) in Fanaa and continuously met in different Bollywood films or Indian books. I think it used by Muslims more often though. The icon shows Bipasha Basu in Omkara.
Always One Foot On The Ground - a line from Regina Spektor's song. On the icon - the singer herself.
City Girl - is almost like my portrait. This is what I do when I ride on buses, trams or trains. I do not, however, look like Scarlett Johanssen. From Lost In Translation.
I Never Drink... Wine is, actually, a crossover between two films. Picture is from The Order Of The Phoenix but the line from Dracula. What doeas not change, is that I love Gary Oldman in any form.
