An update while I reply here. Recieved a phonecall today at about 17:55 from the hospice. He appaently demanded that his mask was removed, refused to have it put back on and refused any attempts to save his life. He died free of the respirator of his own free will apparently in front of the family. I wasn't present as I found seeing him on that machine too disturbing, but my parents, aunt and uncle and my grandmother were until the end.
I was going to go out tonight but figured I'd rather not and called it off. Sooner wait for my parents to get home as I know my mother will be very upset.

It's not too bad, the funeral is later on today so i'm just trying to stay busy and out of the way at the moment.
It's good to know that it was his choice to die (odd i know) but at least it was something that he wasn't on the machine when he did. I think it's probably better for you. At least you know that it was his choice and not something forced on him
you'll need to be with your family at these times, you'll find that you'll all grow a lot closer together and it'll be good for all of you to be together.
