Ciao, 2009

Dec 31, 2009 10:41

What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?

Went zip-lining through a rainforest, snorkeled, ate calamari (smothered in cocktail sauce so all I really tasted was the horseradish), got married. :)

Did you keep new year's resolutions and will you make more next year?

I sort of kept my resolution to shape up by the wedding, and was successful, but then I didn't keep it up. This year I need to do that. The keep it up part.

Did anyone close to you give birth?

Multiple cousins had babies.

Did anyone close to you die?

No.

What countries did you visit?

St. Lucia

What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?

A wee one on the way?? And my literacy master's degree. Almost done!

What dates from 2009 will remain etched in your memory and why?

July 11th, the day Aaron and I got married. :)

What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Getting as fit and strong as I did before the wedding. I honestly was sick of working out by the end of June, but it was worth it to feel good and look great in my wedding dress and my bikini.

What was your biggest failure this year?

Learning to let go of some things I can't change.

Did you suffer illness or injury?

I had the flu at the end of October and it totally kicked my butt.

What was the best thing you bought?

New furniture for our house.

Whose behavior merited celebration?

Aaron's. He's been so very supportive through everything.

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

I think most people who know me know the answer to this one. Appalled isn't really the right word.... disappointed? Confused?

What did you spend most of your spare cash on?

Stuff at Lowe's, I'm sure. And the honeymoon.

What did you get really, really excited about?

GETTING MARRIED!!!

What song will always remind you of 2009?

Lucky by Jason Mraz

Compared to this time last year are you:

happier or sadder? Happier.
Thinner or fatter? That seems to be staying the same.
Richer or poorer? I think a bit richer, but again, we've put a lot of money into our house and we took a wonderful honeymoon so that put a bit of a dent in the savings.

What do you wish you'd done more of?

Writing, again.

What do you wish you'd done less of?

Crying.

How did you spend Christmas?

We went to Gramma G's for Christmas Eve, and on Christmas Day had Mom's side of the family to our house!

There is no question 21.

O_o

Did you fall in love in 2009?

I fell in love with this guy that I got married to. :)

How many one-night-stands?

Nada.

What was your favorite TV program?

I apparently don't watch much TV anymore.

Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

No. Hate is such a strong word. How about "Doesn't really register on my radar"?

What was the last book you read?

Water for Elephants

What was your greatest musical discovery?

A Fine Frenzy.

What did you want and get?

A hubby. :)

What did you want and not get?

I don't know.

What was your favorite film this year?

Probably Julie and Julia.

What did you do on your birthday and how old are you?

What did I do on my birthday? I turned 28. I think Aaron took me to Azteca and I had a margarita.

What one thing would've made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

An end to stupid family stuff.

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?

Cute but professional.

What kept you sane?

Aaron.

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Didn't really have a celeb crush this year.

What political issue has stirred you the most?

Some of the stuff about women's health care has caught my attention.

Who did you miss?

All the people I used to hang out with and talk to all the time who either have moved away or moved apart from me.

Who was the best new person you met this year?

This wasn't really much of a "meet new people" year.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.

Sometimes you will burn the cookies or scrape the finish off your baking sheet or break the brownies, but it's not worth crying over. Pick it up, learn from it, and use parchment next time. Whooooooo's to know?
