It had been a pretty quiet car ride on Peyton's part. Which she hoped Dean and Angela would mostly chalk up to being freaked about going to see Ellie. She had Haley's demo with her, hoping it would be a good enough hook to get her bio-mom to agree to spend some time with her

Angela remained a few steps behind, lingering in the hallway, and listening for anyone in the house. It seemed to her, better to be inconspicuous. Just there as quiet moral support, as much as possible.

Dean stayed back as well, keeping an eye out for anything that might be trouble as well as being moral support.

Peyton picked up a CD from a plastic bin on a shelf and looked at it. "Wow... this -"

"That was their first single," Ellie said, leaning in the doorway. "Only a few thousand of them exist."

"So. Who's the entourage?"

"These are my friends, Angela and Dean. And I'm sorry," she apologized, "the door was open."

Ellie shrugged. "Hey, if I’m allowed to go into your room and sneak around, you can do the same here. Oh, wait, I wasn’t allowed to do that, was I?"

"What’re you doing here, Peyton? And friends?"

Peyton couldn't have been much more nervous. "I... I have a business proposition for you, actually, um,… I have this friend, right, and-and she’s a musician and she’s good, she’s really good, and... I wanna put out a record, I just, I mean, I don’t know how. So, I was thinking… maybe you could help me."

She tried to smile as she offered Ellie Haley's demo CD, but wasn't quite sure how well she managed.

Ellie was silent staring at Peyton, the CD, and the two other teenagers in the hallway before finally smiling. "It's good to see you, Peyton. And friends. Come on in and sit down."

Angela followed, sitting on the edge of the couch as suggested, and bringing out a smile in return.

"It's really nice to meet you," she offered as she sat, ever the sociable one, however awkward this might be feeling right now.

"What is it they say?" Ellie asked, not quite unkindly. "Any friend of Peyton's...? I'm Ellie Harp. Though I'm guessing you both already know that."

"Pretty much," Dean said, sitting down beside Angela. "Dean Winchester. He nodded at Angela. "She's Angela Montenegro. Like Peyton said, we're her friends." He placed a lot of emphasis on the last word, making its meaning something more important maybe than the usual definition.

Ellie raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? Well, nice to see she has such good... friends." She repeated Dean's emphasis. "It's nice to meet you, Angela and Dean."

She looked over at Peyton. "So... this song you wanna produce, what makes you think I could help with it?"

Peyton gave her friends a quick glance. "Well, I mean, mostly because you know a lot about music and the industry and... I mean, you do have a really nice little collection here."

Her eyes went wide at the hard look and muttered "Little?" from Ellie, but she could only stare as Ellie opened the slider into the next room, showing off walls covered with floor to ceiling shelves of albums with a couch set neatly in the middle.

She got up and followed her in, smiling back at Dean and Angela for the first time. "My God! It’s like heaven. Only, it probably sounds better."

"Wow." It had to be said, really. It was obvious from that room, exactly where Peyton had picked up her musical leanings.

"I... think you might even have my dad beat on this," she said after a moment. That took quite something.

"Yeah, that's pretty awesome," Dean agreed, looking slightly starry eyed. "You gotta have some great stuff."

"Let me guess," Ellie said, smiling over at Dean. "I'm gonna go with... Metallica? Maybe some AC/DC? I already know Peyton likes The Cure." She pulled an album off the shelves and handed it to Peyton.
