Do something about what? This whole post was a lot of noise signifying not very much. Not only were there no real problems addressed in terms of specificity with verifiable facts, there were also no real solutions put forward -- just a vague 'do something for the world is collapsing'. This author's piece suffers from the same vagueness and misdirection he professes to abhor. In fact, it is worse, because he is belittling what 'small steps' the world is doing, saying that it is worse than nothing, when in fact, it is the small steps multiplied numerous times over that do make a difference. If he needs proof, witness his opening arguments where he states, "The flood of environmental magazine cover stories, documentaries and advertisements has pushed us over a public-opinion threshold ..." Thus he proves his later arguments incorrect. All the many little steps add up to bigger and bigger steps. I am sorry that he feels that we are not making progress fast enough, and I can probably agree with him there. Where we disagree is that you have ( ... )

I had posted this a long while back, was bored and tagging entries, found it and reposted because a friend and I have been talking about the end of the Mayan calendar's cycle (12-21-2012). I didn't reread the article, and I have an oboe lesson in a few minutes ( ... )
