HOSPICE

My Dad is now in Hospice care. It has just gotten to the point where he needs more care than we can give him here at home. He no longer has the strength to stand and walk. He fades in and out of consciousness and is sleeping often. Hardly drinking and rarely ever eating. And when he does eat, it is usually just a lemon italian ice...that's all he ( Read more... )

So sorry to hear about your father. I understand more than words could expres. My grandmother passed away July 19. It has been the hardest thing in the world. We looked into hospice. She was first on the list, but passed before a room became available. Hospice is probably the best thing for him and your family.

Nothing I say could ever bring any comfort. I can't even say time will heal all, because in my recent experience, time makes it worse. Surround yourself with those you love because they will be the only thing to get you through this. Let him know every day what he means to you. The senses of hearing and touch are the last to go. Hold his hand and tell him you love him until the end. I am truly sorry.
