In Which DD's muses pipe up. Loudly.
So. I work security. And sometimes, on long shifts, I start considering possible fic I'd like to write and/or see written.
Me: *looking through a Galls: Public Safety Equipment and Apparel catalog from work and considering a new human!Transformers fic*
Ratchet: If you're going to insist on demeaning us this way, I insist on that *pointing at a Level II ALS (advanced life saving) kit bag* being include. Also that *gunshot trauma kit*
Jazz: Oi! What do you think we're gonna be in, a SWAT van?
Me: You'd be a bodyguard team, or at worse, a Special ops/infiltration team.
Ratchet: Might need a stretcher, and several splints. And extra bloodstop kits.
Ironhide: Can it, doc. We need room for the armor bags, gun lockers...
Optimus: We're not going to have a rolling armory, Ironhide.
Me: Maybe the BLS (basic life saving) kit, Ratchet?
Ratchet: If I'm going to be on these missions I demand to have the gear I need to work on those boneheads *pointing at Ironhide and Jazz*
Jazz: Oi! And just how many do you think you're going to be on?
Bumblebee: *quietly* All of them.
Me, Ironhide, Ratchet: o.0
Bee: Somebody has to drive the get-away car.
All: O_O!
Me: Look. I'll give you a Suburban. Fits 7 comfortably, and a fairly good sized cargo area in the back. I don't want you in riot gear every time anyway.
Ironhide: But!
Me: Look, body armor these days isn't as bulky as it used to be. Three riot shields, and you all wear armor under your uniforms. Take it or leave it.
Ironhide: :(
Me: 3 riot shields, and 2 sawed off shotguns.
Ironhide: Fine.
So... anyway. I've read sakon76's Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger universe, but I'm wondering if there are any other human!Transformer type universes that take things from a tactical angle? I mean, with realistic type law enforcement handling. HBFS focuses on the bots, obviously, but there are some glimpses into the gear aspects.
