School today is stranger than usual. Maybe I’m paranoid but it seems like everyone is looking at me and talking about me and Sarah. I guess word is out that we are going to Prom. The problem is that being in a band and hanging with the druggies/groupies makes me look bad. Sarah is a straight A student and hangs with the smart kids. You know ( Read more... )

Wow -- so much to say LOL. Well first of all, I hope I don't say the wrong thing here, but it looks like she's trying to make things more official with you two. Meeting the parents? Uh, yeah.

Well if it makes you feel any better, my sister was just like Sarah, and Will (her boyfriend of a few years) kinda like you. He was like the stereotypical polar opposite of her, and she thought that the whole world was talking about the two of them when they hooked up. But -- they really weren't. They just felt like everyone was. But don't let other shitholes tell you that you're not good enough for her. That's bullshit. If she wants to go with you, and you with her, then fuck the rest of them. You deserve a great prom night :)

Sarah made it very clear that we are just friends. She must have told me 3 or 4 times. I'm thinking the meeting the parents is more like they need to approve of me in order for her to be able to even go to the Prom. They probably already hate me! So basically I've got no chance. Especially since I'm not really into being someone I'm not. I figure it's take it or leave it. Maybe I should just call her and not go. I've never been to her place or even her end of town. I need to take two buses and may get lost. Okay now I'm making excuses. I guess I should go shower and get ready for the end of the world as I know it!

I hope Sarah and I turn out as well as your sister, although I do think everyone is really talking about us. Truth is I know they are and I don't care, actually I kind of like it.

Aww come on now. Just go meet her parents -- don't be someone you're not, but still be polite and yeah, keep the swearing to a minimum. I swear aaalll the time, but I never do it around adults. It just looks bad. I don't feel like I'm being someone I'm not, I'm just... being careful to whom I show what parts of my personality ;) It'll be over before you know it, you'll go to prom, and then you'll be all set. If she was as adament as you say about just being friends, then you just have to impress her parents long enough to take their daughter to prom -- it's not like you're gearing up to marry the girl.

Good luck!

Whoa, whoa, whoa! That kid had NO right to call you a peasant. Horrible horrible. He sounds seriously jealous.

There are only two things that matter here: your feelings and Sarah's.

I doubt he is jealous. He just hates me and what he calls "my type", thinks we are not good enough to go to his school. When I was a freshman the city decided to bus poor inner city kids (that's me) into the fancy rich kids public school. Some people never got over it and like to give the poor kids a hard time.

Sarah is not like that at all. She sees people for who they are. I really do like Sarah and hope that dinner goes well and I don't totally blow it and do something stupid.
