This wasn't *too* worrying, as it wasn't any great quantity, just the occasional fleck of red, but it was definately blood, and it was definately being coughed by a worsening cough, so I went to the doctor this morning and came away with four MORE sets of pills to

I always think of that really scary scene in Heavenly Creatures where somebody coughs up blood at school. I had to quit watching that cos it's a pretty disturbing film.

Heavenly Creatures.. the Peter Jackson one where the two girls in Christchurch kill one of their mothers, right? I never get that one right.. am I thinking about one of the others?

It's not a big amount of blood, or anything, it's more like every couple of coughs, there'll be that taste in the mouth, and I'll spit it into the sink, and it's pale red..

Yes, that is definitely the movie. I like that movie a lot (though I only saw it once a while ago, but I bet I'd still like it). The gruesome scene of the girls walking with the mom in the woods as one of them points out a shiny object on the ground so that the mom bends over to get a better look at it and, in the process, is bludgeoned to death, is brilliant. For a long time after seeing that, my friends and I would randomly blurt out, "Look! A shiny object!" while pointing at the ground.
