Rules
1. This is a Trio-Era Roleplay in the Trio's 7th year. The RolePlay itself is thread-based only.
2. This a canon community as of the fifth book and before. Any events from Harry's sixth and seventh year have been played out in the game. Search the history pages for more information.
3. Join us! You must fill out all portions of the application. Once you've been accepted, you are required to create a journal (if you haven't already) within two days of your acceptance. Similarly, you are also required to request membership to BOTH communities within three days. If you do not follow this rule, we WILL take your name off of our member list and you will have to reapply.
4. In order to keep this RPG alive and running, you are required to post or comment at least once per week in the RPG community, the OOC community, or your personal journal. If you are unable to do this (I realize people have lives), you MUST contact the mods either through our email (thedarkertruthmail@yahoo.com) or a post in the OOC communtiy. We will warn you the first time, but the second time we will delete you from the community.
5. Journals are interactive. Post and reply to journal entries in first person. Threads should be started in thedarkertruth community. Please include an introductory section, which might contain any of the following:

6. Stay canon. If you are role-playing a main character such as Draco Malfoy, do not stray out of his personality traits that are found in the book (Harry and Draco don’t magically become friends.). If you are applying for a character, please write the initals 'LJ_02' in the area titled 'Read The Rules?', so we know you have read the rules.
7. Please keep all fighting in-character. If you have a problem with another player, avoid taking matters into your own hands and come directly to the mods. We will do our best to try and solve the problem.
8. We do not accept Original Characters. Please choose a free character from the list below.
9. Please do not post out-of-character in the RolePlaying Community. Save those for the OOC community. If you post OOC in the Role Playing community, the Mods will delete it immediately.
10. Each person is allowed to take a maximum of four characters each.
11. Please stay as in-character as possible. We realize that as the characters grow older, they change and develop, but do not over-exaggerate this. Something acceptable would be Harry is suddenly anti-social due to recent events and refuses to talk to anybody and just stays up in his room. Eventually, this will have to change, but you understand.
12. Your character must have a play-by and icons to go along with that person. Also, make sure your play-by's are somewhat age-appropriate.
13. When filling out an application, please be descriptive. Applications are judged on descriptiveness, sticking to canon, knowing the character and bringing out their personality to the fullest, and excellent writing skill. Also, once you have been accepted into the RPG, please make a post in the OOC Community to introduce yourself and your character as well.
14. Keep your buddy lists and friends lists updated!
15. Respect all the players and Mods. Be nice. After all, this is only a game, correct?
16. Ultimately, the Mods will decide what is canon and what is not. Major plots, etc, ought to be reviewed with a mod first for permission.
17. As of 14.04.07, TDT is now an unlimited rating community. Please indicate the rating of your thread in the introductory section. Any mature content must be placed behind an lj-cut, and be indicated in the main post of the thread.

NOTE: (For those that don't know, a play-by, or PB, is a celebrity/actor/musician/etc. that the player uses for icons and layouts. They are the embodiment of your character; they should resemble your character and the player should have a sufficient amount of pictures to use as userpics. These will reflect your character's mood.)
