Dear Diary

Waiting, that has been what my life has been about since January 4th. I am waiting and waiting for my case worker to call back. Everyday, I get up in the morning and I call. I sometimes call again at noon and then three, which seems to be the closing time call, wait, call, wait. I can't go out and do anything, because I have got to stay by the ( Read more... )

I'm glad you have the disability hassle off your back for two years, at least. Hopefully your caseworker will call soon - it's such stress to wait on a phone call!

Don't a lot of kids have imaginary friends? I don't really get what they're so up in arms about.

Of course there is this concern now that they would hand my child over to anyone. I have always worried a bit about that. Now I can see that I had a bit of a cause to worry.

Yeah, really. He didn't check anything? Man! What if it hadn't been her brother, he'd have called you after the fact when the chickens have flown the coop. NOT good!

I just read stuff about it, and it's perfectly normal for to have an imaginary friend. 65% of kids have them. The teachers are weird.

The bus driver should have called at the stop, I'll just make sure I am always on time!

I'm glad your daughter got her disability benefits. She deserves it and there are so many people who don't.

An imaginary friend is perfectly normal I think. :) And cute.

Thanks, I was sure they would go through, I just didn't want them to run out before they went through.

I think an imaginary friend is kind of adorable as well, time to set a new plate at the table! lol

How cute! Has she let on to what he or she looks like????

I do like how her school was so concerned though. ;)

They did the same thing with all the kids I used to work with... I kept thinking "OK, so... you do know that fetal alcohol syndrome doesn't 'get better', right? Or Williams syndrome? Or Down Syndrome? They're not going to magically begin to function normally."

You are absolutely right, it doesn't get better. I have this FB friend her daughter has Williams Syndrome (something I never heard of until I met her) and every couple years hear she goes having to reapply for her daughter. I guess I am lucky in the last time I had to file my daughter was four. But, yeah, no genie with a magic lamp is going to come along and make it all better.

It's crazy what people have to go through to get disability benefits, yet it seems any faker out there can do it with a snap of their finger.

Right! I know someone that got freakin whiplash in a car accident, and just reeked in the benefits! Whiplash! Then you get someone with something permanent and they have to prove it is permanent every couple of years.

I am so relieved for you that it went thru for two more years. Even though of course it should have been longer, at least you have that!

At least two years, and now knowing everything that they will want for a school aged child in two years, I can have all the paperwork waiting before hand!
