The Long Goodbye

Sep 10, 2006 15:01

Well, the sixth and last course in my university certificate in web applications development starts next month and will see me through until the end of the year. Apart from going to see metal legends Iron Maiden (for the first time) next month I doubt that I’ll have much to trouble the pages of this live journal with. In so many ways I’ll be glad ( Read more... )

are a strange wonderful man... I know you are looking forward to ending this part of your life and moving on to more. My daughter is taking her second class in Web-design she will be working more with DreamWeaver and has made her teacher more than happy that she is back in the classes after taking a year off of the computer work. She got a "welcome back" card from him on friday day- it was sweet!

A duvet as always been the most protective thing ever for me. I love that I can just crawl under it and all will be good for a few... so ??? I don't know but I love it....

Hope you are having a great weekend!!!

Well, I’m looking to finishing these courses. Although only short (about three months each) they’ve been quite intense. Perhaps your daughter can give me some pointers on Dreamweaver. I’ve got it and use it, but I’m more self taught than properly instructed. I find that it has also come in handy for coldfusion and PHP, which I did earlier on in the year. Hope that all goes well for you daughter.

Ahh, can there be anything better than snuggling under the duvet? (I’m not looking for answers to this so, please, nobody reply).

LOL at "not looking for answers" as many of my remarks (in life) as well as online, are observations; and rhetorical.-- wonderful entry. (and story)--It's nice to always be able to count on Teddy.

PS-- Often, both studying and working? costs relationships that we care about, or the possibility of them--
I hope you will hang in there, and wishing you luck. We're all ready to cheer with you, when you do finish. cyberapace {{hugs}} and *sparkly* vibes.

The story was great. Sherlock Holmes came back from the dead by popular demand. You may return to your realm of wonder and strangeness for the same reason someday. Or maybe just for love of Ms. Marks and Tipex thinner. :P

Iron Maiden was my favorite band in high school, and I continue to enjoy their music to this day. I hope you enjoy the show.

Good luck with your course. Since I'm not fit for education myself, I shall live vicariously through you. (And perhaps you will share some of the monetary wealth that comes your way as a result of your schooling? No? Never hurts to ask. :P)

Well, you’re quite right that Holmes was indeed brought back by Conan Doyle (much against his wishes). But I very much doubt that Mr. Warlock will ever be troubling such an amusingly bizarre land ever again. Beside tipex thinner is practically impossible to locate these days.

I’ve always meant to get to a Maiden gig but never quite managed it. Although its past the halcyon days, they still put on a pretty good show and have a back catalogue that would be the envy of many a band. I’m ready to mosh!!!

Thank you for the good luck wishes, I feel that I’m going to need them more than usual with this last course as my poor, lone surviving brain cell isn’t functioning too well these days (a result of too much tipex thinner? who knows). I can think of better ways to live vicariously than through me. Working during the day then studying when you get home makes things a little dull. In fact, I’m trying to live vicariously through some people in LJ myself!

I have wondered what tipex thinner is used for, as I haven't ever heard of such a thing in the United States. I suppose strict controls of its availability are warranted, if it serves as a gateway to hallucinatory worlds populated by attractive attaches and panthers who play with string.

I've never really considered Maiden a band that one moshes to. I have seen concert footage of them from '80-'81, and the members of the crowd that weren't doing air guitar looked pretty stoned.

I have no doubt a consensus could easily be reached that thefaeriegirl is the one everyone wants to live vicariously through. We can form a club. If we do it right, we could even get it tax exempt as a religion.

Well, to be honest it’s actually Tipp-Ex (Tipp is the German for type and is manufactured by a German company). But I don’t want to be seen as advertising or infringing on a registered trademark without the companies consent (something which I can’t be bothered to get). It’s a liquid correction fluid, usually used by typists. The thinner is obviously used to thin it out when it starts to congeal or coagulate. I don’t think that you can Tipp-ex itself in the States but there’s something call Wite-out which is something similar.

All I shall say, for now, (because I always seem to have more to say, don't I?)
is that was very bittersweet. I know you'll understand.

Bittersweet…well, I guess you could say that. But then that’s how some things just are. And, hey….more to say means that I get to listen to your voice some more, which is always a good thing.
