Two eps into Heartstrings and I think it's a win! It won't change the face of Korean television or anything, but it's fresh and funny and just the right amount of ridiculous ( Read more... )

it's like i don't even want sleep, heartstrings, the sound of music, deep and substantial television, pretty people in implausible situations, surrender all sanity, het! on a motherfuckin' journal!, i need a support group for this

Dooooooo iiiiiit! I don't remember the last time when I've seen an OTP this dedicated to persistently bleeding all over each other.

I'm just not interested, honestly. I watched the first ep, I've seen all the Tumblr gifs, I've even absorbed spoilers from my flist and they all fail to excite me. Sorry!

OMG, how I adore this drama. It's like it took all the parts of YAB and Mary that annoyes me and fixed them and kept all the parts I love.

Also, I know I sound like a broken record or a cult member but City Hunter! I am through ep 13 and it's so dark and h/c and gooooood and Nana is the toughest, coolest heroine since Sujini. Dare I say it, it is almost IRISy.

Oh man, it reminds me so much of MSOAN. All the music and cute little jokes (Natasha, what?) and especially the way the two groups of friends are meshing together. I think I'm developing a thing for "youthful" dramas. They make me so happy!

Cult is a good word. :p

I keep wondering who Natasha is supposed to be. Only one I can think of is Natasha Rostova from War & Peace but I doubt floppy boy reads Tolstoy.

Anyway, I want overeater and bulimic together.

Sadly, I don't see fakecest there unless not!ShinWoo's Mom really got around. If you want fakecest in an airing drama, you have to watch Miss Ripley :)

I like the real vibe in friendly interactions.

I know eating disorders aren't funny and I feel like a horrible person for my amusement... but seriously, an overeater and a bulimic. What, class differences aren't enough anymore?

I doubt they're siblings but I'm equally up for we-think-we're-related-so-let's-angst-about-it. Om nom nom.

Miss Ripley is totally on my list for the premise alone. :D

YESSSSS to everything in this post. Man, I love those slightly off-beat romcom-ish summer kdramas. MUSIC BATTLES WHAT XDDDD

Also, Jang Geun Suk has already managed to atone in my eyes for You're Beautiful, I'm more than ready to like a drama with PSH and JYH in it :P

YES YES YES. And all to a steady stream of good music! \o/

PSH has always been one of those actresses I loved despite her terrible taste in drama roles, so I'm excited to see her playing a character I could actually love. XD

IS IT NEXT WEEK YET?

I never DISliked her, she's just one of the actresses I wanted to star in something watchable so that I could somehow justify my willingness to at least sample her dramas ;)

Omg subs for ep 3 are at 88%. We should have it in a few hours, yay!!! *is not stalking the subs site at all, nah*

(Ha, you reminded me I have to upload the released songs from the OST to my ipod! Thanks XD)

Haha, I know! She used to remind me of Toda Erika (before things like SPEC and BOSS, when she was always the annoying secondary girl or the moronic heroine). That kind of "GET A BETTER AGENT" girl.

*is not stalking the subs site at all, nah*

I SEE RIGHT THROUGH YOU.

Episodes 3 and 4 were fun.... and I have nothing intelligent to add. :) I sorta love everybody already, except for the dance teacher but looks like she's finally getting a personality. About time!

Augh, that dance teacher brings back unpleasant memories of the wet blanket secondary woman from Triple. What kind of character is tearing up after only three seconds of screentime? She might as well have had a blinking sign on her forehead saying HELLO, I WILL NOT BE INTERESTING AT ALL.

It's such a shame as I loved the actress in Resurrection and Gloria. Seriously, she's the only character that so far has had about zlich to do. Fleshen her out for crying out loud! She's supposed to be the 2nd female lead....

LOL. Wow, they totally failed in that department. I assumed the secondary girls were in Drummer Boy's love triangle. They need to step up the teacher lady's game.

Were their parents starcrossed lovers? Are we looking at a "secret siblings" plot? Or did their families just have an awful split? COULD THIS OTP BE A FLOPPY-EARED ROMEO AND JULIET? Stay tuned for further developments (and hopefully more fusion music).

Not watching this, but they could go the Marmalade Boy route and have had the parents switch partners which obviously leads to questioning of paternity and much fretting.

What, like swingers? XD

Lol, kinda. You know, sometimes you just go on a cruise with your spouse, meet a couple who happen to be old friends, switch partners, and then all move in together with your kids.

That's a thing people do, right?

If you're intending to make Marmalade Boy sound really attractive to me, you're succeeding.
