I... I .... I was actually THIS far away from flunking it after the first two episodes. For one, because I'm just not much of an angst fan (I skipped through a few YAB scenes/EPISODES as well because all the crying was making me roll my eyes) and I feel like they're cutting out most of the fun stuff and just go directly for the crying. BOO Japan, BOO.
For the other, because in the first two episodes, Mio PISSED ME OFF. Grah! Like, I know I'm kind of uber-strict with the danso side of things recently, what with watching the professionals on a frequent basis. But SERIOUSLY. Yes, she blends in pretty well fashion wise, but she still ACTS EXACTLY LIKE A FUCKING NUN. She uses boku instead of watashi and THAT'S IT. Pronouns do NOT a man make, you silly girl! D: AND THERE'S NO POINT STUFFING RUBBER BALLS IN YOUR PANTS WHEN YOUR BOOBS LOOK LIKE THIS.

But... but... they're actually crying about important things now! No DRAMATIC COOKIES or SIGNIFICANT PIGGY FACES. I feel like the Ikemen characters are lot more down-to-earth and emotionally accessible. Even with the cracktacular premise, they feel like real people.

I totally get what you said about Ren's face. All through the first episode my brain just kept fixating on how teeny tiny his features are, accentuated by the teeny, delicately plucked eyebrows framing it all. But by the second episode, I am totally embracing the tiny and finding it all incredibly charming and handsome/cute depending on the angle. And by the third episode, forget it, I am completely incoherent. Just. FAAAAAAACE ♥

I feel kind of obscurely proud of Tamamori since I've known who he is for years (one of my friends is a rabid Kisumai fan). So even if I haven't been his particular fan, this certainly isn't the first I've heard of him... Good job, Tama-chan; carry on. Also he looks fantastic with the Ren hair. Thumbs up!
YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES to Mio's power poses. And the OTP's relative maturity compared with YAB. I love how supportive they are. What would have been (an admittedly hilarious) "Do whatever you want, I don't care! And I'm gonna go sulk to show just how much I don't care! Check out my Meryl Streep pout" from Tae-kyung becomes "Do whatever you want. I'd really like you to stay and sing my songs, but it's your life and you should do what you want to." The mutual supportiveness is what I loved most about Buzzer Beat, and I love that it's a component of the relationship here.
That said, I would do almost anything for a pig chase scene.
