I love that Hinata's mom isn't just some cold lawyer lady; she really does love Hinata even though she doesn't really get how to express it or prioritize her daughter at all. They're constantly talking on the phone, and mom always knows how Hinata likes things just so (her yukata and stuff, for example) even if she never does anything for Hinata herself. COMPLEXITY? IN A JDRAMA? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS. DOES NOT COMPUTE.
I also love how Wakaba turned out to be really good at something domestic for a change. And her little stitching song ♥ and all the flashbacks. Did you notice Hinata was wearing two ponytails just like baby Wakaba? SO CUTE. WITH MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING COMES MUTUAL HAIRSTYLING.

concerto? well yunno what happens when twdramas forego the excess fluffy/crazy formula. it's romantic-angst cliches done well and in that regard it's pretty delish, plus bonus pretty+talented actors. the latter portion re: the otp gets a bit suspect but then (BUT THEN!) the other otp unexpectedly and out of nowhere materialises as this gorgeous uber-intense fucked-up kind of thing (canispoilyoucanispoilyoucanispoilyou) and it's all so addictive. plus: xiao xiao bin. I WANT TO EAT HIM ALIVE.
