Of course it's all happening in your head, Byung Gun, but why should that mean it isn't real?

So I finished What's Up, and I was going to say something flippant like "BEST DRAMA OF THE YEAR" but... uh... considering that the competition so far has been "Yamapi The Funeral Director" and "My Mom Keeps Getting Hit On By My Friends and It Makes Me Uncomfortable", I think the superiority of What's Up is a given ( Read more... )

Can we just imagine how perfect this had all been in it's original format? The full hour long, 16-17-ish episodes? Cause if the hacked down version was still amazing...the original must be perfect. I'm pretty sure they tried to cut Daesung out of the drama (which is why his storyline like vanishes for the second half of the drama). A lot of it felt unfinished and that's the only gripe I had with the finale (and the series as a whole really). I mean...the resolution between Jae-hun and Tae-hee was very, very abrupt and then she shows up for about 10 minutes in the finale. That makes...no sense. I get that her part in the story was finished but it still felt off with how they had portrayed her character. And yeah....I was disappointed that we didn't get to see them preform all together for once. I wanted to see Byung-gun kick ass on stage, damn it all ( ... )

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT. I really don't understand Korean networks.

Right? I was disappointed in this too. I waited so long for their angstbomb to detonate, and then it just kind of... disappeared after a couple flashes and some smoke. I really wish we could've gotten more conclusion and more emotional confrontations time on that one in general. (And I didn't even make the connection between Daesung and his legal troubles, but I bet you're right on the money. I wonder if they gave some of his airtime to the SW/DR storyline... not that I minded it, but I definitely felt their increased presence in the second half of the drama as opposed to the first.)

(Also since you like Im Joo-eun, you should see her in Wild Romance. Her character is a riot. Actually, I like the drama as a whole with the minor exception of the hair they decided to give the female lead. It's horrifying in the ( ... )

The last two episodes in particular felt extremely choppy and uneven. Also the Hades thing never really got a big reveal like I thought it was going to. Maybe it wasn't supposed to but what was the point of a buildup and then...nothing. I have a bit of a soft spot for Daesung (because of Family Outing) so I was a bit more aware of his absence then others maybe. I actually think it was Tae-hee's story that got a bigger spotlight because I'm pretty sure she wasn't billed as one of the top names of the story. Daesung and the two Ims are almost always billed first soooo...I dunno. I'm reading to much into all of this, I'm sure, lol.

OMG Tamra. SUCH a beautiful drama. I managed to see the Director's Cut of that one since...I'm pretty sure if was cut down by the network. But it's definitely worth the watch just for the prettiness of Jeju. Im Joo-hwan is awesome and now after seeing him in WU, he's one of my favorites. Plus the OTP is pretty cute:

That was actually why I avoided Tamra the first time around - I loved Seo Woo (♥) but wasn't interested in seeing the network-chopped version.

I actually think it was Tae-hee's story that got a bigger spotlight because I'm pretty sure she wasn't billed as one of the top names of the story.

Neither was Oh Man Suk, though, and he was slated to die from day one so I assume they understood his significance. And IME's only drama before this was Hon/Soul, so she wasn't exactly a bankable star... maybe we're stumbling onto the real reason this drama had such a hard time finding a home.

The Hades thing! I forgot about that, I was expecting some kind of reveal too. I did GREATLY enjoy his smackdown of his mom though.

I'm going to echo Mousie and say: I need to finish this.

I also second her on Shut Up. ;P I honestly didn't think it'd be this good but I'm hooked, well and truly. There's no twaddling with the story, which I love.

Well I'm sure you need a drama to fill in the void. So (I hope you're not sick of hearing the name by now) I rec to you Shut Up Flower Boy Band! its teen age angst/scruffy underdogs story/music drama all in one! I looooooooooooove iiiiiiiiiiiiiit. I almost love it more than history of a salaryman. dont ask me why, cause History of a Salaryman is also really good and hilarious and gripping. But I already recced it to you so I wont keep bugging you about it. But yes lets talk about flower boy band, as the title alludes, you have a gaggle of gorgeous man but what it could have never prepared you for is how fascinating at least 2-3 of them are. First byung hee the "wacko" leader. then Ji Hyuk the gruff right hand man. and then there's the quiet long haired drummer Do il who is the strong and silent type. but yet strangely endearing anyway because well you'll see why. Also there's Hyun Soo who I dont care about whatsoever because he's a pissy baby face diva. and there's also the tall goofy bass player and the short keyboard player that has ( ... )

*salutes* I've found it on Dramafever and will start watching the instant I don't have a million other things crushing my free time into dust. I'm pretty excited! I haven't seen so many people rec a single drama since... IDK, City Hunter.

Same here, except I do have a job and it's... well, I don't want to complain since just having one makes me luckier than most people. But it isn't exactly a unique and fulfilling challenge, if you get my drift. I'm suddenly identifying a lot with movie characters who quit their jobs to become fugitives and assassins.

Why can't we just stay home all day and watch dramas?

So I'm guessing you're not interested in watching Ending Planner and Risou no Musuko

Did you check out Hungry and Lucky Seven?

how do you feel about the fact that meisa is now married to jin

OMG I JUST LOOKED UP WILD ROMANCE AND NOT ONLY ARE THEY BOTH IN IT (DO THEY INTERACT?!?! EXTREMELY RELEVANT QUESTION) BUT THE HEROINE IS A JUDO EXPERT PLAYED BY A REAL-LIFE FEMALE BOXING CHAMPION? WHAT? WHAAAT? HOW DID I MISS THIS CLEARLY AMAZING DRAMA?

she's fucking rad. i think she took up boxing to get fit for a drama and liked it so much she stuck with it and then won an amateur tournament. you can't not love lee siyoung.

oh man seok plays a married dude, and apparently him and wifey are boring (she's that chick who was in chaeyoung's vignette, the rookie actress who slapped her and got her van). ._. they're in the same space at least! im joo eun's otp looks way cute though.
