Suicide by Cal-Train?

Saw this sign while waiting for a friend in Palo Alto.
Ummm, no thanks. Being squashed and minced on the rails just wouldn't be quick or painless enough for me.

...someone said they appeared during the dot-com bust.

Well I was quoting an MST3K short "Last Clear Chance" dealing with railraod accidents...but too busy listening to iPod/cellphone/ect...well that too is hilarious and I think Darwin would be smiling. :)

It's been done in my community. At least twice. Once at a grade crossing, and once in the station I board at.

Both times I got home very late.

The time it happened in the station, they bypassed my station; I rode the train to the next station farther out, and walked back 1.5 miles (on the street).

When I passed my own station in the train, they were pouring bleach on the bits of the suicide victim that they couldn't reasonably pick out of the ballast.

Don't know how fast it was, but it was effective.

Until the big rail accident in town caused a speed limit, the passenger expresses went through at 70mph.

Glad they have the signs up by you.

There's two rail lines in that pic. The one on the other side of the fence is the express. And yeah, I watched it fly by a few times at an OMG speed.
