I have a special treat for everyone today: Instead of a regular old anti-Bush segment, today's entire post will be dedicated to talking about this so-called "President" of ours. Let's begin, shall we ( Read more... )

The other basis has been agreement that Jesus is lord and that everyone should accept him into their hearts, and that we need a President who agrees with that. This is, of course, absolute bullshit that has nothing to do with politics whatsoever. SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE exists for a reason.

I hope for your reputation's sake you realize that there is not one single document in existance that forces the "separation betweeen church and state" into law. The only reason that little schpeal came to be is because Thomas Jeffereson mentioned something about it in a letter to a friend. Since then, it's become the gospel of everyone against the beliefs of Christianity or anyone who openly admits that they make their desicions based upon it (in this case, Dub-ya).

Although your arguments are painfully valid, you can't support them with "sparation" as it doesn't officially exist within our government.

Just a little constructive criticism. :D Trying to help you out.

I stand corrected. There is not a specific mention of separation of church and state in the Constitution, although it is alluded to as in Article VI, Section 3: "but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

But then again, consider that a lot of principles that we would consider to be unconstitutional if they were breached are not actually in the Constitution. For example, there is no mention of terms such as "fair trial" and "religious liberty" made in the Constitution, but they are alluded to and are basically accepted as "laws" or "principles" of this country. The same holds true for separation of church and state.

Thank you for pointing that out, though. Made me go and do MORE research...=)
