Well, here I am at work again. 5 days now without seeing a soul during work hours. The entire building is empty. I'm down in the basement level, the concept of anything going on in the world outside is remote. It's getting to be a cross between 28 Days Later and Dark City. I've not seen the sun in the sky for just over 5 days now

I don't celebrate christmas so I agreed to work from christmas eve through to end of today. As we have to provide 24/7/365 support globally there had to be someone here covering the phones. I've so far taken 6 customer calls in 4 1/2 days.
They wouldn't let me work from home over this period either so they had to pay for a hotel for the 3 nights there was no public transport to and from cambridge. Turned out quite well as Alix came down and we go to go out for a couple of meals around bayswater.
I'm on holiday for a week after 4pm today thank fuck.

Heh. You should have set up a bed with bottles of champagne in the office and brought Alix in with you :-)
