We're replacing people and the query has gone out if there's anyone who knows someone employable.

I suspect the answer is no but does anyone want to join me on the Helldesk?

Ian would probably be interested, but you're nowhere near us now, are you? :P And he's not got a degree, he's just good with PCs. :P

How bad is your hell desk?

Does it really need a degree? (If so that is a really good argument about the number of people going into IT degree's)

Yes, but there's bad, BAD, BAD and BAD! :P

You don't know bad or large userbase support until you are supporting multiple large client companies, each with their own setups o.O

Where are you nowadays? How soon would I need to be available, i.e. would I have time to finish my PhD?

I think the big question would have to be "what's the pay-scale like" :)

As it is, though, I'm not sure I want to be job-hopping to a company that's just being bought by another company in the middle of a recession :)
