I hate snow...I hate cars...and now I hate tow trucks. Last Wednesday we had that big storm. On Thursday when I tried to get my car out it was completely stuck. The snow the plow had pushed behind it was frozen solid and our shovel snapped in half. The office for our appartments doesnt open until 8:30...the same time I have to be at work(no ( Read more... )

It sounds like you are a girl and they feel they can give you the runaround. Get all your facts on paper now including who you talked to, what was said, when you talked to them, etc. It is imperative you have times/dates for everything and any papers or receipts.

Why did your insurance say it wasn't covered? Do you have full coverage? Maybe THEIR insurance should cover the damage they did to your car.

It sounds like they are trying to get you to put this off or give up on it with the whole "I'll talk to my boss on Tuesday when he gets back" crap.

I am sure Tom will know best, but that is where I would start... collect the facts and then search the internet for past cases of this happening.

I can't speak specifically to the law in Connecticut, but I'd definitely pursue this in small claims court ( ... )

So to update...the apartment complex os protected by the vague wording of the lease which apparently gives them the right to have our car towed anytime for pretty much anything.

The insurance company will not cover it because it would be a collision claim, my deductable is 500$ and the damage was only 320$. Had it been a comprehensive claim my deductable is 100$ so it would have been covered. But they have a list of 10 things that are considered comprehensive, and everything else is collision.

The tow company has taken the stand that the damage doesnt seem like it was caused by them, the car was rusty anyways, and besides they were called to move my car because it was illegally parked duringg a snow storm, so if they did do the damage pulling it over the pile of snow its still not their fault.

My car was in fact in an actual legal parking spot and was towed the morning after the storm, not during it.

Looks like Im headed for small claims.
