So I have the tv on in the background and suddenly they cut in with a "Special Report." There is a plane in the Hudson River and they don't know how it ended up there. They then proceed to talk at length about the live footage...and then all the possible things that could have happened. They are still going...I'm wondering, if they are stalling ( Read more... )

I just heard that it flew into a flock of birds and both engines were knocked out.

Even when they were first reporting, they seemed to know that everyone was ok, but were still trying to drag some drama out of it.

I did happen upon some footage of a guy around my age from CT that had been getting hassled by the reporters and he was hilarious as he answered their questions. His attitude was "its not that big a deal guys."

FYI, as crazy as it sounds, my Pratt & Whitney working dad says that the engine-death-by-goose thing is actually plausible. In case anyone doubted it.

I dont think anyone doubted that...mostly just wondering why they felt the need to have a one hour special report when they dont have anything more to say than "maybe it was a bird strike."
