Drabble meme responses! Ten drabbles, various flavours and intensities. That was fun!
1.
literati asked for Harry/Draco (Harry Potter):'Accidental bonding, first kiss or TIES.' I went for 'accidental bonding'... with a twist. And an audience. ;)
Stuck Like Glue (PG)
WHOOMPH!
"Oops."
"Potter? What did you do? Why is the cauldron...?"
BOOM!
"What are you- Get off me, you fumbling great oaf! Don't touch- You're getting it everywhere! Oh, Salazar, that is disgusting. Why would you do that? Why would anyone- Oh, that's... Yes, okay, just there, just like- Oh, Potter!"
~
"...and Mr Potter then turned over two pages by mistake and continued to follow the instructions of an unrelated potion, inadvertently creating what appears to be semi-sentient, emotionally-activated polymorphic bonding resin."
"So...?"
"We're stuck together until we come, you imbecile!"
"I'm afraid it's not quite that simple, Mr Malfoy."
2.
shakatany asked for Spike/Xander (Buffy): 'nighttime swim'. My mind went somewhere odd.
In Training (R)
The beach house is remote, the phone lines cut, the car disabled. Nobody hears the cries for help; the screams of pain, of grief, of gleeful joy. After dinner, they wait the requisite hour - Xander insists on it - before they dive into the ocean to rinse away the clotting gore, the scents of death, the taste of perfumed skin.
Moonlight glistens on their skin, one pale and sleek, one tanned and scarred, both lithe and muscled and playing like seal pups in the rolling waves.
"Is it time yet, Sire?"
Xander's pulse thrums frantically beneath Spike's tongue.
"Soon, Xan. Soon."
3.
mirasol asked for Spike/Xander (Buffy): 'silk' and got naked Spike. :D
The Rough With The Smooth (PG-13)
Cheap cotton sheets, frayed and coarse, cover the stained and lumpy mattress on the too-small motel bed. Faded drapes, all cabbage roses and strange, misshapen leaves, mute the California sunlight into mote-filled gloom and a solitary, razor-edged beam of yellow death.
For all the notice he takes, it could be twelve-hundred count Egyptian cotton, stretched out across an over-sized double-sprung chunk of heaven in a penthouse suite. Xander's too busy dragging rough, callused palms and scarred fingertips across the spread of Spike's back, stroking his silken skin.
He can do this for hours, and does, just to hear Spike purr.
4.
outsideth3box asked for John/Rodney (SGA): 'paradox'. I spent over an hour and a half researching possible paradoxes to play with. *rolls eyes at self*
It Started As A Debate About Which Catwoman Was Hotter... (G)
"Rodney, your turn."
"Most annoying ontological paradox in a TV show."
John chewed his lower lip, knowing the habit drove Rodney crazy. "The Miles O'Brien time travel episode in DS9." He smirked. "The one with the Romulan Warbird with the cloaking device powered by a singularity."
"That's..." Rodney paused. "That's actually not a bad choice, considering the movies you watch. The whole singularity premise is completely wrong, of course. My niece could-"
"Choose a paradox, McKay, or I win this round by default."
"Lister in Red Dwarf," is Rodney's immediate answer. "He's his own father. My round; lose the shirt."
5.
txrabbit asked for Sam/Dean (Supernatural): 'sunrise'. I nearly got there. *g*
When The Smoke Clears (PG-13)
The worst of the smoke is dispersed by the wind that rolls through the burnt-out city just after midnight. It stirs the few remaining fires, smothering some and feeding others in chaotic neutrality. It carries fragments of agonised screams to the brothers as they stand at ground zero, where hell leaked through.
They stand, shoulder to shoulder, taking solace from the contact, staring east and praying for a new dawn.
As the horizon burns with purples, bleeding reds and vivid orange, they fold together, eyes screwed tight, and hope the heat that sears their souls won't spark a new conflagration.
6.
snglesrvngfrend asked for Dean/Sam (Supernatural): 'hooker'. I was tempted to put one of the boys in short shorts and lipgloss, but my muse had other ideas. *g*
Birthday Bang (R)
Dean's spent cock twitched in Sam's loose grasp as the door clicked shut behind 'Cyndy with two Ys'.
"I don't know what's worse," Sam muttered into Dean's armpit, "the fact that you hired a hooker for my eighteenth birthday; that you announced you'd be - how did you put it? - making it worth her while once she'd broken me in; or that it only took her thirty-five seconds to convince you to make this a threesome and another five minutes to figure out she was superfluous."
"Bitch, please. You're interfering with my refractory period here. Dad'll be back in five hours."
7.
flight_wo_wings asked for Bruce/Wally (DCU): 'do anything', so I did! :D
Anything (R)
The man in his bed is all long bones and lean muscle, not a spare ounce of flesh to be found. Sleek. Limber. Perfect.
You can do anything you want to...
The man in his bed is naked, skin slick with sweat and oil, eyes tracking his every move with unabashed hunger.
You can do anything...
The man in his bed is still because he wills it so; is silent because he's asked for silence. His power is absolute.
"Do something, Bats, I'm going crazy here!"
The man in his bed is Wally West; absolute is relative.
Batman does something.
8.
ponders_life asked for 'one or more of: startle, egregious, music: Spike/Xander or John/Rodney'. She got 'startled', John/Rodney flavour.
First Contact (G)
The first time John leans over Rodney's shoulder to see what's got him so focussed on the screen that he didn't hear the knock at the door, Rodney startles so badly he knocks his mug of coffee flying, smacks the back of his head against John's chin and topples, flailing, off the chair to land at John's feet.
Even bleeding from a split lip, it takes John a long time to stop laughing - or braying like a donkey if Rodney's the one telling the story. (He quite often is.)
John never stops leaning over Rodney's shoulder, and Rodney never stops startling.
9.
tabaqui asked for 'something in which, Rodney manages to make John see how science to him is like flying is to John and it's all 'oooooooh!' :) Slashy or gen, i don't care'. This idea sprang immediately to mind.
Shared Memory (G)
John christens it a
Pensieve and the name sticks, though Rodney threatens to kill them all if it ever appears in a report. He keeps it locked up tight until the tests are done, and then he runs them all again, just to be sure.
Once he's positive it's safe to use, he selects a memory - the moment he finally got the science behind the Stargates. It's a gift for John, his way of saying 'I understand what flying means to you, I really do.'
John's reaction to the memory is everything Rodney has been hoping for, and so much more.
10.
suki_blue asked for Dick/Slade: 'fire'. I remembered an idea I'd mentioned in email and ran with it. :D
Gilded Sparrow (PG-13)
It burns in his veins like fire; it makes him scream and beg, curse and offer bargains he can't keep, just to make it stop. It doesn't.
He tries to break himself against the restraints; tries to peel skin and flesh from hands and feet with chains and straps put there to keep him safe. He'll never be whole again.
The transformation takes an eternity, but he has those to spare now he's been captured and created; a gilded sparrow in a cage; Slade's little bird.
The first hundred years are the worst; after that, he doesn't mind so much.
