Ignorance is Bliss

Lately I've had an issue with my left foot swelling up a fair bit by the end of every day. Once I realized it wasn't going to go away, I decided to go see the doctor. Turns out that it could be either of two things: poor circulation due to my weight, and water retention. I'm just happy he ruled out renal failure and heart disease, the other ( Read more... )

Hehe My roommate has tons of recipes, trust me! Besides, you know how I am about cooking.

Number-wise, for my height and weight, the calorie target for 'rapid yet healthy weight loss' is 2400 calories. (I know, I know.) By cutting the soda and replacing the huge losses with turkey sandwiches, I actually overshot downward and had to start eating MORE (mostly at breakfast).

Right now I'm just trying to re-learn basic eating habits, which is work enough for a dedicated snacker like me!

Best of luck to you sweetie! *hugs* shoot me an email if you want ideas on portion/serving sizes & such. If you cut it down gradually, you don't even notice it. Most people eat like 2 - 3 times as much as they really should & don't even know it.

I know you can do it, you can do anything you put your mind to!! :-D

Thanks. :-) My roommate is a foodie and knows a bit about dieting, so I think I'm fine, but if I have any questions, I'll let you know!

I can help too. :)

Little things add up to big changes....good for you on trying to kick the soda...even though it's just as bad for you, you can use Diet Whatever as a stepping down point so the caffeine withdrawals aren't quite as bad.

Best of luck!

Guess my method was out of the question eh?

Good luck to you man, you'll love the way you feel after you've dropped a bit. I feel like a new man.

Chet lost something like 80 pounds when he stopped drinking soda. I guess he was drinking around 3-6 a day and then stopped entirely. He now drinks these sparkling water things that are calorie-free but still gives him that soda fix. He also got a puppy around that time and between the huge cutback in calories and walking a new dog every day, he dropped all that weight REALLY fast.

I on the other hand, have hormonal imbalances and seem to gain weight at the drop of a hat. Yay.
