Honestly, I'd like to see what you have done! You could always edit it later, ne?

Hi there! :)

Just realised word count was for the old version. Updated version is about 1000+ - which is roughly the length of each part so far. Not sure if this is a sign of my poor organization, or that I need to write more concisely. LOL.

Argh... With your advice in mind, I'll see if there's a place I can put in a 'cut' without being too jarring.

Sigh... *silly alien trudges back to work before the weekend starts and mummy alien prodes her further about Mother's Day celebratory plans*

I...really dislike when people split chapters up. If it was my own story, I'd rather it be at a place where I could take pride in what I posted rather than rushing just to have something out.

I obviously don't seem to care about making people wait :)

I know... Argh... but as I check through what I've currently written, I realise by the time I really incorporate everything I originally intended, LJ's gonna force me to split the post. *silly alien glowers at herself for trying to fit too much into one chapter ( ... )

Well I guess that's the risk you take when you write something multichaptered. You impulsively want to post it as soon as you've got one chapter done, but then there's always real life looming that may interrupt your initial plan.

So the only multichapters I've written thus far for this fandom are with Katy. In other fandoms I was prone to stopping once my energy for a story stopped. I'm far happier writing oneshots and things.

And in this fandom, I've realized that chaptered fic is different from what I'm used to. Some people stop around 1000-1500 words and call it a chapter when I'm used to a chapter being about 3000-4000 (you can obviously tell that Katy feels the same way if you slog through our chapters).

It may bug you to not be constantly posting it, but if it's my own work, I'd rather go at my own pace and be happy with what I've posted and 'signed my name to' in the end. If that loses readers well, then that's life. I mostly write for my own entertainment :)

LOL... Considering first time writing fic, infancy stage's pretty rough-going, but I totally understand what you mean with the one-shots cos the two I've tried my hand in pretty much wrote themselves within an hour or a couple at tops when the idea came ( ... )

Well, as a reader, I would want to see what you have. As a writer myself, I would wait. I'm so helpful, aren't I? XP

I think you should wait. If you as the writer aren't completely happy with it, then I as a reader won't be happy either. I'd rather see your finished polished version, since that would be the version that is really the story.

But you do what you want! It's your story after all. :)

LOL. Beginning to think the same way too. Happily managed to clear some work last night (it's morning for me here now) before I treated myself to some fic-development quality time. But tried as I might to 'edit' to a form where I was satisfied... not possible. But have reworked the organization so that I'm more optimistic of getting to where I'd probably be have less to write out for the part and still get to where I want to story to go.

Definitely still helpful feedback, cos we're all writers and readers at different times, and sometimes an outside perspective helps to just clear out the cobwebs in the mind. :)

Thanks for the feedback. :)
