Comment and I will give you ten actors and ten actresses. Then post in your Livejournal with your favorite films of theirs.
I got a list from
sellthelie. I...rambled a lot under here, I can't help myself. It's kind of embarrassing.
1. Hugh Jackman - Flushed Away! I'm not even kidding. I watched this recently with my brother and I thought it was really, really funny and kind of adorable and it had SO MANY brilliant actors in it-Jackman, Kate Winslet, Ian McKellen, BILL NIGHY. I don't even care that it was animated, this was brilliant. Everybody watch it! (He was pretty good in X-men, too, but the third one tainted it for me.)
2. Dustin Hoffman - Death of a Salesman / The Graduate / Runaway Jury / Joan of Arc / Hook. I CAN'T CHOSE. Oh word, I didn't realise this guy was in so many movies which I have loved? (I also didn't remember half of them until I looked at his IMDb but whatever. Also, his role of Joan of Arc is “The Conscience” but, God, I don't even care because that movie was phenomenal and I loved it.) This man was such presence. He's charming and such a great, great actor that I even loved him in Meet the Fockers and I hate the bloody movie more than I can put into words. God, Hoffman, there's not that many actors I can say that about <3
3. Robert Downey Jnr - Natural Born Killers (oh god, this movie, I just don't even know how I feel about it sometimes but I remember loving it SO MUCH). Or Weird Science, that was pretty awesome. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, too, flip RDJ was fantastic in that and it made me pleased because it's exactly the type of movie I adore. I really enjoyed Sherlock Holmes and all, but it wasn't my favourite. My dad loves this man's movies-I vaguely recognise the summaries of most of them and have pictures in my head but I really haven't watched them recently enough to distinguish. (ALSO, OH MY GOD, I FORGOT HE WAS IN GOTHIKA. I don't care, I enjoyed that movie. I love mostly rubbish horror movies more than I can say.)
4. Eric Bana - Black Hawk Down. Just a brilliant, brilliant movie. I really love war movies, which surprises some people but God when done right they're so powerful. I loved this-I recommend it all the time and few people listen to me because my taste is all over the place but wtfever.
5. Christian Bale - Little Women. OH MY GOD. I DID NOT KNOW HE WAS LAURIE. I just--what? Hahahahahaha, oh my God, I will never be able to watch American Psycho from now on without wanting to giggle. Oh God. I just can't even process anything else right now. Jeez.
6. Sam Worthington - I have never seen any of this man's movies. Sadly, I think I've seen the episode of Water Rats he was in-my grandparents watch it a lot.
7. Alan Rickman - Dogma, no question. I freaking love Dogma, I pretty much watched it for about a month straight which is...pretty embarassing, now I come to think about it, but I have a thing which pokes light hearted fun at religion whilst still acknowledging that it is important and Kevin Smith himself said that he does believe in God (or he did, previously, I don't actually pay that much attention to him so I don't know if that's still the same). Rickman was amazing in this movie. I love him-his delivery is brilliant and I find him oddly attractive.
8. Johnny Depp - Sleepy Hollow. Hands down. I adored Sweeney Todd and, wow, Blow was such a good movie and Captain Jack Sparrow was made of win but Sleepy Hollow is the better film to mine. Ichabod Crane <33. The Headless Horseman and Christina Ricci and the period costumes and horror and the way he was so stupidly pale. Oh gosh, I loved it so much. I distinctly remember the second time I ever saw it, it was on television and I convinced my friend to watch it too. She hates horror movies so I had to stay on the phone with her the whole time. It was glorious.
9. Karl Urban - Lord of the Rings. Flip me, I still watch these movies on a semi-regular basis. I thought they would be naff so put it off forever (I dislike the books. I don't even care if they're 'brilliant' they're boring as hell. I do not understand how LOTR was supposedly superior to 'The Hobbit' which was just, gah, but I am pretty far from being a good critic). This is one of those movies that my whole family will watch, which is brilliant. God, this trilogy. I just...it made me rediscover my love of the fantasy genre.
10. Paul Rudd - Clueless / Forgetting Sarah Marshall / Romeo + Juliet. I also quite enjoyed the TV movie of The Great Gatsby he was in-I thought he made a pretty good Nic, too. Also, I'm sorry Mia Farrow and Robert Redford but your version of TGG sucked (and I don't even like the book all that much!). Paul Rudd has such a nice quality as an actor. I just-I don't remember him every being erally outstanding in anything. Get on that, Rudd.
1. Rachel McAdams - Mean Girls or Red Eye. I couldn't chose, really. Also, they show that girl has got range and also, I really would have picked like everything she's eve been in if I could because I have such a girl crush and I adore her.
2. Zoe Saldana - Star Trek! Although I still have to see The Losers, which is apparently fricking awesome so who knows? But I loved Star Trek like woah (I spent money to see it twice in cinemas, I have pretty much never done that before) and Zoe was amazing in it.
3. Sigourney Weaver - Holes. I haven't seen many films Sigourney's been in, which is a shame because she's consistently brilliant in everything I've seen her in. But I didn't like Aliens that much when I saw it-I think I hyped it too much in my mind so it was a bit pants. Also, Holes has a special place in my heart.
4. Reese Witherspoon - WALK THE LINE. Oh gosh, no question. I freakin' loved Walk the Line, I don't give a crap that apparently it wasn't that faithful to his life. I mean, I know that “Walk the Line”, the song, wasn't about June at all but I do not care because that movie was amazing and brilliant and I spent a whole summer convincing my family to watch it and when they did I was so ecstatic. Also, Reese looked amazing <3
5. Amy Adams - Catch Me If You Can. I cannot remember Amy being in the film but I also haven't seen it in a while, but I genuinely adore this film. I thought it was funny and I remember Leo DiCaprio being really good in it but ugh Christopher flipping Walken was in it, how awesome was that? Also, Tom Hanks was really good in this movie! I really must rewatch, because gah IMDb'ing made me want to watch it all over again.
6. Anne Hathaway - Rachel Getting Married. Such a great, powerful movie and the haircut really suited Anne. I thought she was fabulous-her performance was nuanced and I pretty much loved everything about this movie. It hurt too watch and I find it hard to rewatch, but it was definitely one of my favourite released last year. (I was so tempted to write Ella Enchanted because LOL. It was cheesy and naff and my sister and I loved it.)
7. Nicole Kidman - The Others. God, I rewatched The Others over and over and over again and refused to give it back to the video shop for about a month because I hadn't had enough of watching it yet. I spoiled it accidentally for my sister and whenever I wanted a good movie for pretty much a year I rented this one (this was before I knew how to get movies for myself, obviously). Nicole Kidman was so damn good in this movie.
8. Cate Blanchett - The Talented Mr. Ripley. Ugh, this movie is so amazing. The acting in it is fabulous and it's so clever (idk if that's the right word but I don't care overly). I was so impressed the first time I saw it and, man, I did not know that Matt Damon could act before I saw this movie. I pretty much forgive him crappy movies now because of it. Cate was so beautiful in this movie it was ridiculous and I spent most of the time she was on the screen thinking PLEASE DON'T DIE, LOVE, PLEASE.
9. Gwyneth Paltrow - I can't use The Talented Mr. Ripley again, so Sliding Doors. Oh, that movie. It was on late on some channel once and I put it on to fall asleep to and ended up buying it on DVD the next day. I love movies that play with “what if” scenarios and Sliding Doors is such an excellent example. Okay, so it's a sort of a romance but it is so much more than that. It made me really like Paltrow as an actress. (Apparently she was in Hook as well. I LOVE THAT TOO.)
10. Katherine Heigl - I have never seen a movie with this girl in it. She looks adorable and I nearly went to see The Ugly Truth because everything else was rubbish but then, um, not even she and Gerard Butler could lure me in. So!
