In our world, there were non-humans and half-humans~ Humans still dominated the general population, and most of them were unaware that the other not-completely-humans/non-humans actually existed.
...There weren't any battles going on, but, half-humans, such as hanyou--yeah, we were outcasts with the youkai. If you've got partially human blood...the youkai don't want you in their tribes and whatnot. [awkward, uncomfortable laugh]
So, you gotta live along with the humans, mostly. Hell, they won't even notice you're different.

Ah, oblivious humans, glad some things are consistant between worlds.
Yeah, my species could make ourselves look kind of human, and we also had were-creatures, and guess what? Humans could rarely identify either of them. Surprise!
Would you mind if I asked a few more questions? How do the humans who are aware of youkai and hanyou treat them? And would I be correct in assuming that youkai don't let the hanyou in their groups solely because they're not pure youkai, or is there an actual reason here?
[[ooc: Ahaha, sorry this took forever, I was eaten by holidays and illness.]]
Humans...it's the ones that know magic that are aware of us. They...they're fairly friendly, cause they've seen demons, and stuff like that. But it doesn't make us any less of outsiders.
Yeah. It's the human blood they don't want, I guess.

Well, if you don't want to answer, just say so.
Intriguing... Heh heh.
Ah, uptight purebreds, eh? The closest my species has is a feeling of general disdain towards Raahk who choose to defect to human society. Weres, however, are particularly bad about the whole 'no crossbreeds allowed' thing.
... World's a bit of an understatement, really. The galaxy has over a hundred known sentient species, and calling anything an inter-species war might be an over-simplification. I think about the only ones still on that notion are my own kind (and we just hate everyone on the whole...), the Solaans, and the Amalgamate.

Aah, so your "world" consists of planetary systems. Neat. In that case, then, which is the dominant or most influential race, and... What the hell am I saying, I probably wouldn't be able to recognize any race you name, what with them not being on my world/dimension/plane/what-have-you. ... Unless there are any "Raahk", "Weres" or "Aves" in your roster of sentient species. Are there?
So, at the risk of sounding like a huge, ignorant nerd, is there a big inter-planetary goverment-ish group like the sci-fi-genre so loves to depict? Or are there only little alliances between species that leaves everything else in a free-for-all?
[[ooc: as, um, said in the other comment, sorry for taking so long. >.>]]

There's a set of mangy dog-men named rahls, but nothing like those three you've listened there. As for the rest of that... you're massively over-simplifying Pan-Galactic politics by assuming species are united into themselves. There's currently somewhere in the area of a hundred and twenty recognized galactic powers, all of which control a minimum of ten planetary systems... then there's also a few independents, of course.
As for a dominant species... Heh... The "head-honchos" of the Commonwealth are the klovians, and they won't deny that they're the more powerful little blighters on the map, no thanks to their technological innovations. In terms of population, though, that's a toss up of humans and guroks, I'd think.
