The cookies were good... but not great. We made a few substitutions and the chocolate was definitely a mishmash of what we had on hand. I might try making them with what is actually listed one more time to determine if they are going to go in The Vault for future baking.
It wasn't so much spelunking as I usually think of it (with ropes and harnesses and such), but scrambling on all fours over giant boulder piles. Actually a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. Next time I'll wear some sort of hat, though. My hair was soaked in cave water by the end of it. :P
I am trying to remain coherent after looking at all of those divine food photos. OMG! I went to a potluck last night and the food was sort of yugh. I am so jealous!!!!
You are due for good food karma, then! Our first Potluck Thanksgiving was fantastic, but there was some controversy at the end of it when some of the other guests left with the lion's share of the food (including my Blood Pie - yes, the whole pie).
We had a do-over Thanksgiving with the original hosts last night because their neighbors generously gave them a NINETEEN POUND turkey... just for the heck of it. The Mister had it worked out that accounting for bones and other inedible viscera , each of us should have eaten about three pounds of turkey in order to fairly split up the bird.
