I haven't read this series (as you know *g*), but wow, that was sad. I felt sorry for both of them, which I didn't expect, since I'd read Coop's bit first.

Most of the whole series has been written in Don's POV and I figured he is getting exactly what he is wanting but what about the other 2 people.. hwo are they dealing...

Yeah it is hard not to feel sorry for Coop but Lia is in the same boat. In her mind she has less of a chance holdling on since there is so much history between them.

Billy was dreaming a strange dream, that he was a Master Sergeant in a top-secret Special Forces team. A man who kept calling him Dirt Diver was asking him if he had the target in view. He opened his mouth to tell Snake Doctor that was a negative when he was pulled out of the dream by Don rolling over.

I really liked Billy's reflections in this, so sad, and hard for him to just break away. And then Lia trying to be accommodating, hoping Don will decide to just want her instead is tough as well. Great piece.
