So, as some of you may know, the DC Animated Universe covers a diverse array of characters from the comics... but my no means all. Now, obviously, those who received any screentime at all are automatically part of the DCAU, and probably known by Batman, because he keeps files on everyone and everything ( Read more... )

Don't look at me with those eyes, Bruce.

Apparently Black Mask was in The Batman....But I've never seen it, so I don't personally know what Bruce may or may not know. But in the comics, Roman an Bruce were forced into playdates as children, and I imagine grew up together - we all know the private schools they went to had, what, twelve kids? ;) So there is that aspect, but other wise I'm not terribly sure I have a preference. Did you have anything in mind?

The Batman or Batman: The Animated Series? Because The Batman isn't in DCAU, and B:tAS is. (Confusing, I know.)

Anyway, I'd be good with them knowing each other as kids. I'd assume Roman wasn't QUITE as batshit back then as he is now, though I have to wonder if he still liked Power Drills as much.

Really, they don't count that at all? Go figure. Looked like it sucked anyway, so this answers that question. :-p Okay! So Bruce probably wouldn't know that Roman = Black Mask.

They likely hated each other as kids. Well - Roman hated Bruce, because in his mind, Bruce represents his parents' hypocrisy; I don't know how Bruce would feel. I always imagined that Tommy Elliot, Bruce and Roman all spent time together as kids.

And no, daddy wouldn't let him play with power drills, that's the real reason he had to die. :|

Yeah. Sorta like Teen Titans doesn't count for DCAU, either. And, no, not yet. I figure he hasn't been Black Mask-ified yet, but that he's probably aware that Roman has become a criminal mastermind.

Yeah, probably, and Roman hated Tommy for being smarter and Bruce for having more influential parents. Bruce didn't like Roman, but he put up with him because Mom and Dad said to play nice.

Ouch.

Iiiiii know he'll know who Selina is. But I just wanted clear up that voice actors and art styles aside, they'd have no problem recognizing each other :3

Also, have you read the comic that explains the change in Selina's hair from long and blond to short and black in the DCAU? Because it's kind of tragic :(

Yep, I kind of figure that, too. We're good.

And, no, I haven't. D: What happens?

Argh, I wish I had scans. Basically, she's been dying her hair for years (why AU!Selina, why?) and finds out that the company uses animals (including cats) for products experimentation. She kidnaps the rich bitch of a CEO and tries to force her to take care of the sick cats she rescued from her labs. Doesn't go over so well, and Batman's there when she scars the woman's face for good with her claws.

And then she pretty much leaves in tears because she'd never wanted Batman to see that side of her. Only she waits in the shadows to see if he'll watch her leave like he usually does. And he doesn't.

I've only read it because it's in a trade I have, but it's pretty amazing. And a good explanation of the transition in Selina's look and personality between the series.

P.S. when are you introing Bats?

Wow. That's. @_@ So sad.

Soon. Though his first post will be Private and Encrypted and only to Dick and Tim. He's a paranoid bastard like that. He'll probably contact Selina once he gets the situation from the boys.

Blue Beetle (Jaime ver) debuted later than most of the DCAU stuff, and his existence depends solely on the Infinite Crisis, so I think I'd like to keep knowledge from our dear Batman.

Yeah, I kinda figured he wouldn't know Jaime.

I'll wait on the Ted Kord-mun, then, on his exact reaction to Jaime's existence.

What do you want to do about Ravager?

Slade-mun and I are playing it fairly straight that he knows he has a daughter, so Bats can know, too.

All righty, this continuity stuff is waaayyyyy over my head, but I see that Teen Titans (AS) isn't on the handy Wiki list so ( ... )

Yeah, TT isn't in DCAU continuity, sadly, though a Teen Titans EXISTS in DCAU (it's complicated).

It pretty much comes down to whether you want a DCAU Slade/Deathstroke to be closer to comics!Deathstroke or Teen Titans Go!Slade. I'm good with either.

Yes. It is. And makes my head hurt. x_X

hsdjkhfakjsdh well, I've been trying to blend the two, as least as far as his personal background is concerned because I needed a springboard to work from with his character. @_@ But uh...since he generally only goes by Slade now, I think I'll go with the Teen Titans version since...yeah, it'll make things less complicated in the long run. @_@

Of course, his cover will have to be blown first for that to happen, but you know. XD;

Okay. So... since Elle gave the okay for a Ravager existing in DCAU, should I assume he knows that Ravager is/was at least a protege type for Slade, not unlike Robin was to Batman?
